Grande Couronne X David Aiu Servan-Schreiber
Glenfiddich, 2021

I worked collaboratively with Glenfiddich and Artist David Aiu Servan-Schreiber on packaging for the launch of Glenfiddich Grande Couronne 26 Year Old. Davids artwork featured emblematic crackles symbolising the smoked wood grains of the meticulously sourced finishing casks during the whisky maturation process.

David and I worked together to create an artwork that worked that merged Grand Couronne original look and feel, and David’s artwork. The aim of the project was to capture Davids textured artwork, and make a tactile packaging.  The final product included a debossed focal hole for key information, as well as debossed larger cracks. Gold foil was then added in the cracks, and a gritty tactile varnish was applied across the rest of the artwork for a final rough, yet soft touch finish.
